Windsor design chairs made by Ray Walsh from Co Clare, Ireland.
Bio
"I first started wood turning to pass the time during school holidays on a mission school in Uganda about 1970. I did no wood turning for the next 20 years or so, but finally got back to it in the early nineties. I discovered that chair making in the traditional style interests me most, and I work at it full time since 2001. I usually source my own timber, working from the raw log to the finished chair, being in charge of each step suits me best, however I use imported American timbers namely, Tulip wood, Maple, Beech and White Oak in the making of the American comb back Windsor chair shown on the gallery page. I try to make each chair better than the last and I hope they will survive many years into the future."
